Inverness Polish Association Is Closing Down

Dear Friends, Supporters and Colleagues

We would like to inform you that after 11 years of volunteering help, support and advice to the many thousands of Polish migrants who came to Inverness and the Highlands to start a “New Life”, we are closing down as from 16th December 2017. The Committee has taken the decision that there is no longer a need for the help we offer as most people have found work, accommodation and very many have integrated into Highland society with a good command of English. On behalf of the Committee and myself, I thank all those who supported us, all members who gave up their free time in fulfilling our obligations as laid down in our constitution.

The Polish Saturday School was run by the Inverness Polish Association, which as its’ Chairman I started on 3rd May 2008. Very many young people have passed through our school gates – over 4000 in total. A large number of students have also achieved passes in GCSE and A level Polish exams, I thank the hard – working teachers for their efforts. While celebrating the 10th anniversary of our school this May, we assure everyone that the school is ready to move forward and work for another 10 years!
