About Association
We are a voluntary organisation, working for the benefit of the Polish and Scottish community. We want to help you to start a new life in Scotland and in particular in Inverness and district. We aim to ease the problems encountered in lack of language, accommodation and in obtaining suitable work.
The Poles are well-known for their good work and their willingness to take on challenges. We aim to support this ethic and good opinion through our combined efforts.
What can we do for you?
- we can organise English lessons
- we can organise Polish lessons
- we have a large amount of information to share with you
- we can help you to fill in application forms for all sorts of available help
- we can help with accommodation and with landlords
- we can help you to achieve suitable employment
- we organise social evenings and larger gatherings
- we are aiming to acquire a Polish doctor to work as part of the NHS
- we aim to set up a Polish Saturday School
- we aim to maintain the traditions and culture of Poland
- we aim for integration within the Scottish community
What can you do for us?
- you can join the Association
- you can attend regularly at our meetings (every 3rd Sunday of the month)
- you can help Poles who are having difficulties in settling here
- you can take part in all our social events
- you can support us in our work
What have we achieved so far?
- we have gained funding towards the work of the Association
- we have achieved Charity Status with the Inland Revenue
- charity Number SCO 37551
- we have acquired a small office in the city centre and we are currently furnishing it
- we have a large number of contacts with employers, landlords and with the local authorities
- every month we gain more new members
